The 1st XV claimed the braggin rights in a hard fought local derby versus Pontyclun at Cefn Mably.
The game was watched by a fantastic crowd that but wasnt a great spectacle although keenly contested by both sides. Llan's Set piece provided ample possesion throughout the game but the Badgers back line defence held firm throughout the game.
The games only try was scored by Llantrisan's Scott Bryant following pressure on a Pontyclun lineout 5 meters from their own line. The conversion attempt was thwarted when Pontyclun's charge down saw their outside half kick the ball off the tee before Lewys Montague even had chance to put boot to ball, The referee stating that Montague had started his run up so the charge down was permitted.
Both sides had periods of pressure but scoring chances were few and far between.
The 1sts travel to Dinas Powys next Saturday, January 2nd for a 2:30 kick off.
